The Battle Belongs to the Lord
Although the election is over, Christians are still very concerned about the future of our country. We know that restoring America will not be accomplished without God's help. So many have said that there is nothing we can do. But, that is not true. Read on to discover the role of singers and musicians during times of personal, church, community, or national battles. This is not the time to give up, but to move forward, trusting God for His victory in out lives.
1. 2 Chronicles 7:14 If My people will humble themselves and pray, and seek My face, and turn from their
wicked ways, I will hear from heaven, I will forgive their sin, and I will heal their land.
God is calling us to repent, to be sorry for our sins and actively trust God to help us change when we humble ourselves, pray and seek God, He will heal our land.
2. Psalm 22:3 But Thou art holy, O thou that inhabits the praises of Israel.
God has called us to praise Him, for He inhabits our praise. Where God is, there is power, healing, strength, deliverance, and peace. He is the answer for everything that is wrong in our country.
Let’s go back into the Old Testament to learn more about seeing God’s victory in our country and in our lives.
II Chronicles Chapter 20 (Read the whole chapter later. This is my paraphrased version.)
V1-2: Judah was invaded by a multitude of people from Moab.
V3: Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself to seek the Lord, and proclaimed a
fast throughout all Judah. (Seek God, pray and fast.)
V12: The people cried, “O our God, will You not judge them? For we have no power against this great multitude that is coming against us; nor do we know what to do, but our eyes are upon You. (Don’t focus on your circumstances, focus on God. Wait on God for His provision.)
V15: The Lord said: “Do not be afraid nor dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not
yours, but God’s.” (Fear not. Trust God.)
V17: “You will not need to fight in this battle. Position yourselves, stand still and see the salvation of the Lord,… Do not be afraid or dismayed; tomorrow go out against them, for the Lord is with you.”
V18: Jehoshaphat and the people bowed down and worshipped the Lord.
V21: Jehoshaphat appointed those who should sing to the Lord, and who should praise the beauty of holiness as they went out before the army and were saying: “Praise the Lord, for His mercy endures forever.”
V22: Now when they began to sing and praise, the Lord set ambushes against the people who had come against Judah; and they were defeated.
V23: The enemy turned on each other and destroyed one another. (God used the enemy’s weapons against
them.)
V25: Judah returned with joy, rejoicing over their enemies.
V28: So they came to Jerusalem, with stringed instrument and harps and trumpets, to the house of the Lord.
V29: And the fear of God was on all the kingdoms of those countries when they heard that the Lord had fought against the enemies of Israel.
Singers and Musicians:
God has given you a very special calling, for such a time as this. May we sing with joy, declaring the awesomeness of our God, that America may repent and turn back to the Lord. To God, singing has nothing to do with performance. By allowing Him to use us in such an awesome way, strongholds will come down and we will see God’s victory in every battle.
And what if the “wrong candidate” was elected President? Know this, God places people in leadership. Do not let fear or anger overtake you. Fear and anger are the opposite of faith. They are not of God. We must pray and accept God's will in every area of our lives. The only hope for America is Jesus. Pray for our leaders to be saved. Pray that our leaders choose to serve God in the truth and power of His Word. Pray for America.
Also very important - If we are living in the latter days, and I believe that we are, we must make sure our relationship with God is not hampered by personal sin. Have you received Jesus as your Savior and Lord?
If not, go to the tab on this website labeled - Got Jesus? You can receive Him today. Tomorrow is not
promised. Today is the day of salvation!
Sing and play your instruments with joy unto the Lord! Worship Him in the beauty of His Holiness! Rejoice! THE BATTLE BELONGS TO THE LORD! Hallelujah!
