Music Ministry Seminars
Dr. Mary Willock shares insights gained through many years as a praise and worship leader, concert soloist, choir director, and church consultant. Directing this seminar to the average church musician, she offers valuable truths and practical suggestions to improve the quality of any music ministry.
Mary Willock’s book, Don’t Just Sing, Minister Through Music, is a companion to this seminar. Please visit the resource page, Music Ministry Checklist and the articles listed in The Skilled Musician to get a brief glimpse of the quality of the Music Ministry Seminar. Then contact Mary Willock to set up a Music Ministry seminar at your church. Also available, Life Changing Worship, a two hour teaching that encourages your congregation to actively praise and worship God in the church and in their everyday lives. This teaching can be presented in two portions, allowing time for lunch and fellowship. |

Don't Just Sing, Minister Through Music, Book 1 - is written to the regular choir member, the soloist, instrumentalist, the music director and the pastor. For too long, we have we neglected the spiritual maturing and growth of our musicians. The music director spends practice time developing the music skills of the choir and instrumentalists. Music ministry training frequently is limited or nonexistent. This book bridges the gap that exists in churches throughout our country. God is calling us to spiritual responsibility. We must train up ministers of music to know how to operate in God's Word.
Don't Just Sing, Minister Through Music, Book 2 - is a Collection of Revelations and Reflections from more than 30 years of Music Ministry.
(The original drafts for this book are still available on my website under the section - The Skilled Musician. Good News: New chapters have been added to create book 2.)
In Book 2, I share challenges, blessings and valuable lessons that I experienced through my many years as a music director, worship leader, lead singer for a quartet, guest speaker and concert soloist. I provide strategies and skills to benefit all who minister through music. I present new perspectives about real-life ministry issues and Bible-based answers that are relevant to current concerns. I pray that both books will encourage you and help you gain a deeper understanding of ministering through music.
Now, the two book combo, Don't Just Sing, Minister Through Music, Books 1 and 2, is available at Amazon.com. Book #1 is also sold separately.
Something to think about:
There is an old saying -
The amateur practices until he gets it right.
The professional practices until he cannot do it wrong.
Now, let's bring that saying into the spiritual realm -
The amateur practices until he gets it right. The minister of music practices until it becomes part of his spirit and then prayerfully brings forth God's Word in power and authority, ministering life and hope to the people.
